Story
4464 Bittern has had various different identities as preserved engine. Initially it was bought by Geoff Drury and it did a few runs until 1968. In 1987 it was cosmetically restored by the NELPG to represent 2509 Silver Link. In 1997 it was sold to Tony Marchington who sold it again to Jeremy Hosking in 2001. For a few years Bittern was representing 4492 Dominion of New Zealand. Now the engine is waiting for major overhaul.
