Story
6960 is a later version of the original 4900s but with a number of changes: the class had Plate frames, cylinders cast separately from the smokebox saddle, larger super heaters & flatsided Hawksworth tenders. 6960 was withdrawn from service in June 1964 and sold to Woodham Brothers scrapyard in Barry, South Wales for cutting up.
